Lay Eucharistie Ministers

Lay Eucharistic Ministers must be persons of wisdom in the faith and of good repute who have received the respect of the local congregation and also demonstrate spiritual maturity.

The Lay Eucharistic Minister administers the consecrated wine at any celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the absence of a sufficient number of Priests or Deacons assisting the Celebrant.

Lay people serve the chalice at each of the three worship services. You may volunteer to serve one or all of the services. No special prior experience is required, only faith and interest in this meaningful ministry.

Special training will be supplied by Fr. Don, and a schedule for service is published.   Lay Eucharistic Ministers must be adult (defined as age 16 years or older) members of St. Stephen's.  Lay Eucharistic Ministers are licensed to serve with the Diocese of Atlanta.   For more information contact Fr. Don or Karin Smith.
